As mentioned, yesterday the group hiked into their first campsite in the Fitzpatrick Wilderness. They hiked 2 miles and gained 830 feet of elevation, which might not seem like a lot, but for the first time wearing an expedition weight pack can be pretty significant!
They will spend today doing some more lessons on how to live well while in the backcountry, another day hike to continue the acclimatization process, and start putting together their Full Value Covenant—which is a statement that the group will come up with on how they want to care for one another over the next 5 weeks.
