FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Meeting students where they are is key to a thriving ministry on campus. When Jesus called his disciples, he used a simple model that we employ on campus today: gather, equip, and send. We develop young women and men who live out their faith in every area of life through intentional evangelism, outreach, and Biblical discipleship. You will find ministry on campus exciting, entrepreneurial, challenging, and rewarding.
We are committed to walking alongside you as you begin ministry on campus. You will have a supervisor who will be your primary resource, as well as a cohort of other new staff who share in the same experiences.
The CCO has four main types of positions: Campus Ministry Staff, CCO Ministry Apprentices, Support/Operational Staff, and Campus Ministry Volunteer.
- Campus Ministry Staff — this is a full-time campus position that works in partnership with a local church or community board. Support raising is required. (For seminary graduates or those with significant ministry/life experience.)
- CCO Ministry Apprentice — this is a one-year or more position designed for discernment with Biblical and ministry training and intentional opportunities for growth and ministry experience. Support raising is required. (For all recent college graduates.)
- CCO Support or Leadership Staff — these are positions that support the hands-on campus ministry of the organization. From Staff Services, Talent Acquisition & Mobilization, and Marketing & Communications to Finance, Support Raising, and Events, these positions help make campus ministry happen. Depending on the position, support raising may be required. (For those who want to offer behind-the-scenes support for the work done by on-campus staff.)
- CCO Volunteer — this is a volunteer campus position. Support raising is optional. (For those who want to invest significant time on campus but have other full-time or part-time employment.)
One of our primary tenets is that a campus ministry should work hand-in-hand with the local church, so we partner with churches and community boards to invite students into the lives of local congregations.
