Stepping Onto the Balcony
a poem by Hannah S

"As I give my morning stretch, stepping out of my shared semi-messy tent,

I wander onto the balcony.

At first I was confused. Unsure, scared, and didn’t know what to do.

But I took a leap onto the balcony.

So quickly, so soon.  I’m experiencing so much new.

Including digging holes to go poo.

I huddle close with strangers, whom are now my best friends, playing games of hacky sack, groaning when it ends.

We spend our days in so many ways, but it all leads to exponential growth.

Strangers, now friends, united and sent.

To sit together on this balcony.

We now show our growth in ways previously impossible, guided under our created oath, presently unstoppable.

Though move days are hard, we love to take part,

Fully indulged on our balcony.

No longer alone, yet so far from home,

I find rest on our balcony."

What is a balcony?

Each member would explain it differently.

A balcony is a way to remove and rewire our normal routines. Being in a beautiful place with so much open space forces you to be vulnerable, available, and loving. Although our time is short and very intense, we’ve crafted life-long connections by sleeping in tents.

God’s creation of our balcony is all in His plan.

So we can thank Him and praise Him in all that we can.

Sabbath worship time

The group is being intentional about scheduling in Sabbath rest times. They may not always happen on a Sunday, but they get them in when they can. This is a picture of the group during worship on one of their Sabbath days.
