God is doing a new thing
When the CCO started in 1971, our vision for reaching college students had a specific geographical focus: an approximate two-hour radius of Pittsburgh. We eventually expanded east into metro-Philadelphia and New Jersey and west into the state of Indiana.
Over the years, we have had requests from churches and schools all over the country to do ministry together. We have prayerfully declined many overtures, believing the time was not right.
God seems to be doing a new thing in the CCO.
We are now in serious conversations with churches from California, Florida, Michigan, Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This fall, we hired a staff person to reach out to students at The Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. On January 1, a new CCO ministry will launch at the University of Kansas.
And this spring, two of our veteran staff people will relocate to Tennessee to pioneer a ministry at the University of Memphis with Hope Church, one of the largest congregations in the country. Ivan and Heather Strong Moore recently made this announcement to their friends and supporters:
This is an exciting time for the CCO, and we covet your prayers. We are trusting God for the resources to make these new ministries possible. We can’t wait to hear the stories of God’s transforming power in the lives of college students in Brooklyn, Kansas, Memphis, and beyond!
Will you give a year-end gift to help us reach even more college students with the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
