FIND A DEEPER MEANING OF JOY

Subscribe to receive a story a day to your email through the Advent Season beginning on December 3.

Christmas is a time when we are promised joy in a thousand ways—songs and sparkle, parties and presents. But despite our best efforts (or maybe because of them!), we do not always experience much joy in the month of December. Join us in experiencing 21 stories exploring the meaning of true Joy during this Advent Season.

JOY TO THE WORLD

 CCO ADVENT DEVOTIONAL SERIES

Joy is at the foundation of the Christmas story. From Elizabeth’s womb to Mary’s song, from shepherds in the field to the angels who surprised them. Zechariah, Simeon, Anna—the first two chapters of Luke’s Gospel overflow with joy.

And this joy reaches us today.

Joy is more than a feeling...

It comes not as a fleeting emotion, but as a deeply rooted response to Immanuel, the God who comes near. Joy comes as the fruit of the Holy Spirit in us, even during times of suffering, and as a foretaste of Christ’s return.

Joy is at the foundation of our life in Christ. And this bears remembering, and helping one another to remember—the joy of the Lord is our strength.
